SAP Evaluator

Find your balance.

What is a SAP?

A qualified SAP evaluates individuals in safety-sensitive jobs who have violated the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol policy. This includes positions in Trucking, Aviation, and other DOT-related fields.

Steps to Return to Work

To return to a safety-sensitive position, you must complete the following steps:

  • Initial Evaluation: The SAP will conduct an initial evaluation.
  • Treatment Plan: You’ll receive a personalized recommendation for treatment or substance abuse education.
  • Monitoring Progress: The SAP will monitor your progress throughout your treatment.
  • Follow-Up Evaluation: Once you finish the treatment, a follow-up evaluation will take place.
  • Compliance Report: If treatment is successful, the SAP will provide a compliance report to your employer and request a return-to-duty test, which must be negative.
  • Ongoing Testing: After returning to work, you will undergo a follow-up testing plan.
